The cows even came to show their respect even though we basically serve them on a plate for people to eat… lol…
This was the dreaded day, saying goodbye to #TheNuggetCafe… There were just some loose ends to tie and we were done for the #season…
I walked into an already eager crew doing their final cleaning of the kitchen…
I put everything away in storage and all that was left was steam cleaning the carpet and wiping down the logs which help form the walls of The Nugget Cafe…
Richard was finishing some final cleaning on the slip proof mats we use…
All while the mountains watched… witnessing this every year and existing for millions of years on top of that…
Our change seemed insignificant compared to what these mountains have seen over the years… I’m sure they love the company but are ever used to the loneliness winter brings…
Richard and I had to take a ride past the #TaylorTrailerPark to empty grease waste into some steal drums…
I had never ventured up here and was amazed at all of the old junk that was stored up here along with an amazing view…
You could see the #KranorFamily’s vast equipment up here… Looks like they had done some #farming in the past also… Probably selling #hay to #farmers for their #cows…
Not a soul was up here but the remnants showed the evolution of #TaylorPark and how they eventually evolved to what we see today…
I want this bus! It reminds me of #TheMagicBus with #JackKerouac and #KenKesey… Great documentary on Netflix about their #travels across the #US in a #bus very similar to this one…
There’s Dave leaving after the kitchen was completely done… Only Chris, myself, Richard and Jason stayed for the carpet cleaning…
And after about a couple of hours of wall scrubbing and carpet cleaning, The Nugget Cafe was ready to close for the season…
I felt this sunken feeling as we got ready to leave yet a happiness considering the cleaning was over…
Here’s the results of my efforts! I tell you folks, if you want a clean place to eat, you are going to get it here! This place couldn’t be any more clean!
I found myself picturing my two new buddies cleaning the dishes… Griffin and Michael were invited back to become #waiters if they wanted to, next year… Something I told them they should take advantage off knowing the skill has served me well over the past 16 years…
I visualized Dave screaming behind the line with his infectious laugh while Jason silently helps him and Richard preps food… I thought about Billy’s enthusiasm about specials, like “The Burger of the Day…” And how they found it hilarious when I mistakenly charged $12 for a grilled cheese sandwich with south western soup when it was just $6 on the menu… they were so shocked how many I sold regardless…
I thought about Chris and how great of a leader he was basically letting you do your job without any #micromanaging what so ever…
I made $5500 over 5 weeks… A good start to pay the $19,000 I now owed in mechanic bills for #TheMillenniumFalcon…
The Kranor family, all of their workers and The Nugget Cafe helped me achieve part of this huge feat while giving me so many great experiences…
This was not a job folks! It was men coming together and forgetting their differences to accomplish another lucrative season and we did just that…
And all while #MatchlessMountain…
And #ParkConeMountain overlooked… providing us with the biggest lesson of all… And that’s unity! For without that unity, none of this would have been possible and I think we take that for granted sometimes but these #mountains will always be here to remind us of just that… Because when #TheTravelingMac makes his way back up here, and I will, these mountains will surely be here eagerly waiting to see the next chapter sure to come about…
A complete #paradise folks with many lessons to learn and I learned quite a few… For if you have any questions, just climb one of these moutons and I assure you they will be at least somewhat answered on the way back down…
