I woke up in #Boonsville,Missouri folks! Yehaw! I pulled into the #Walmart parking lot around 1:30am… I hadn’t showered since I left #Plymouth,Massachusetts so I was starting to stink… I took a nice warm shower and went to bed… I had bought #NationalLampoonsVacation, the original, on #DVD and put it on last night… I was laughing my ass off and realized once again why this film is my favorite #comedy of all time… It’s genius!
Not long after I put the classic on I was out like a light and I slept deeply until around 7am… Some noise outside woke me up so I pressed play on the #DVDPlayer not knowing I had hit the #CommentaryFeature… I lied there and laughed as #ChevyChase (Clark), #HaroldRamos (Director), #AnthonyMichaelHall (Rusty), #DanaBarron (Audrey) and the #ProducerSimmons commented on the #movie as it played… It really started my day off nicely… After it was over I hopped out of bed, eager to continue my trip…
I drank my #NutriBullet fruit and vegetable concoction, filled up #TheMillenniumFalcon with gas, grabbed a cup of joe and hit the #road… I was in a great mood today and was happy I would be arriving in #Colorado by 2 am… I am not ashamed to say I was also excited to get some of that #LegalBud… Right when I cross that #StateLine I am looking for a Medical shop and buying some good old #ColoradoHomeGrown… I figured I would park at a #Walmart about an hour away from #TheColoradoDreamRanch and head over in the morning…
I was a little pissed this morning when my radio was cutting in and out… Also #Millie had been running rough here and there… I thought it was just the computer trying to relearn the #vehicle, which is normal when you change a computer but went under the hood to find the #NegativeCable on my #battery was very loose… These assholes at #J&RTowing didn’t even tighten it and it was the main cause of #TheFalcon running like shit! How could she relearn the engine when she doesn’t have the proper power to run? I am so tired of assholes not doing their jobs correctly! I have been quite diplomatic when it comes to dealing with J&R Towing but now I am pissed! Fucking hacks!
Well, after that revelation that lead to a short hissy fit, I was #OnTheRoadAgain (sing it Willie) and what an amazing drive… #Missouri is a really beautiful state with #farms, gorgeous #lakes and a #freeway where you can put the #PedalToTheMetal…
My #CoPilotApp would soon take me on a #detour through the #country where I would see a huge sign with the picture of #AbrahamLincoln on it… I passed it so quickly I had no time to take a photo, unfortunately… What it said was “Missouri… Where the fight to end slavery ended!” I screamed “Hell Yeah” and thought about the brave men who sacrificed their lives for such a great moment in #AmericanHistory…
You could see the old battle grounds from #TheCivilWar with the stone walls and flat terrain… The area really tugged at my heart as I thought about how we #enslaved a whole race of men, women and children… Knowing that this was just the beginning of their fight for #freedom in a country that still refuses to apologize for its past as a whole…
But I also thought about how they took down that god awful flag from the #StateGrounds in #SouthCarolina… We may still be growing as a nation but good things are coming around lately and I hope we continue to grow… No matter how someone wants to justify the symbolism of #TheConfederateFlag it still represents and was created to defend the state’s right to choose if they wanted to keep slavery or not… denying men, women and children their #constitutional right to be free… I don’t care what whip cream you put on top, that’s the reality of that flag and it insults a whole race of people!
I am so glad that that monstrosity is down and it should be displayed in museums to remind us all of how horrible we can be as a human race… The fact there are still a good amount of people who choose to ignore a whole races’ displeasure with this god awful symbol, by stating everyone is over sensitive and defending their right to fly it, makes me sick! I think a races’ struggle for equality trump a stupid flag and we should at least give them the benefit of the doubt and not fly it on State and #FederalGrounds…
Fly it on your own property if you love that hate symbol so much… I want you to, so I know who the true #racists are! Yes, you are racist if you fly that flag because you are denying a whole struggle for freedom and equality by flying it! And yes, if you are #American or live in America, you should be apologetic for this country’s past! I know you didn’t #enslave people but this country did and we are apart of it! So lets at least be apologetic instead of being stubborn and ignoring a whole race that helped build this country for free and still hasn’t gotten shit for all of that free labor! At least that attitude will work towards more peace and understanding instead of the #Hick attitude stating everyone is over sensitive! What is wrong with people in this country?
But it takes all kinds to make a #GreatNation, so I commend them on using this country’s freedom to be utter insensitive assholes! Sorry about the #SoapBox but it needs to be stated and if anyone wants to battle me on this subject, feel free but get ready for an all out battle! I will tear down any ridiculous theory you have concucted to justify this hate symbol that is a cousin to the Nazi flag in my eyes..
I soon stopped in to refill my gas tank when I noticed this little critter stuck in #TheMillenniumFalcon’s headlight… Don’t mess with Mille because you won’t win you little bastards… The hood of #Millie looks like a #BugGraveyard… This guy was still twitching… I of course put him out of his misery… I don’t care how disgusting I find you, I don’t want to see anything suffer… What a bleeding heart #liberal I have become… lol!
Oh yeah baby! #TheFalcon soon hit #HyperSpace! “Traveling through #Hyperspace ain’t like dusting crops boy!” I was really flying now and it felt invigorating! It was 95 degrees out, my #A.C. was at full blast and I was feeling #FreeAsABird! The #SpeedLimit on this freeway was 75 MPH! So I had to make it an even 80… #Millie was shaking a little at first but soon smoothed out as she got comfortable with #LightSpeed…
It was just straight, comfortable driving from then on! I was really enjoying the sights, the speed and the #freedom of it all! Even the cows were shocked to see this #BucketOfBolts screaming down the freeway…
But as you all know, if you have been reading this #blog, when #TheTravelingMac becomes free and feels no worries in life, tragedy is soon lurking around the corner… And she was waiting for me on #70W! Waiting patiently for the unaware idiot pushing a 19 year old vehicle to its limits…
Look at this unaware, free of stress face… Look at how peaceful he looks… Look at his new attitude, coming to terms with the past struggles of a relentless past month… You can see the wear and tear on his face but you can also see the freedom oozing out of his skin…
Oh how dumb he is… How dumb he is too think he is actually out of the #woods and is going to enjoy a stress free 6 weeks in the middle of nowhere on #TheColoradoDreamRanch… I want to jump into this picture and give him a big hug, knowing that feeling he is having right now would be short lived… Oh how I pity the poor bastard but envy him at the same time… I want to jump in there and literally fuck him in the ass because that’s what he is going to feel in just a few moments… He’s going to feel that hard, intruding feeling of tragedy once again, adding to a past month of full utter chaos…
Oh yeah folks… That free man was soon faced with this crap… The Millennium Falcon overheated in the #HotWeather… Before I knew it, the #TemperatureGauge jumped up into the red and I quickly went to pull over when she started to lose power… I safely guided her to the side of the road and shut her off…
I did everything I was supposed to do… I shut off the engine but left the ignition on while I turned on the heat to pull it away from the engine… I went out and lifted her hood… I noticed the #Antifreeze over fill tank was spraying everywhere as the fluid boiled rapidly… Knowing not to risk touching anything, because she could explode on me, I just let her cool down for 45 minutes… 15 minutes more than the recommended time… But when I went to start her up, there was no power…
Keeping my head cool, I came to the conclusion that I may have run the battery down from running the heater and #EngineFan to cool her down… A little hard to believe considering I have three batteries in this clunker… So I started up the #generator so I could recharge them… I also refilled the water in all three batteries…
Well, long story short, I had to call #TripleA once again… They sent out a guy who tried to #JumpStart me with no success… Then this asshole scared the shit out of me and said it looks like your engine has ceased up… I explained to him that I checked the oil and there is no water in it so I caught her before she #overheated too much… I have to have some sort of wishful thinking here…
So, now my mood was way down in the dumps and I started to get that defeatist attitude that always seems to accompany such tragedies… I threw a few things around my house and took out my aggression on a few flies that took the opportunity to sneak into my cab… I was irate and ready to jump infront of one of the vehicles who didn’t have the courtesy to switch lanes while passing a motorist that was broken down… It would be a valuable lesson for these assholes, especially the dicks who are driving #18Wheelers and should know better…
People… When you are going 80 MPH down a freeway and you have to pass a broken down motorist, for the love of god switch lanes, especially if you are driving a huge truck… It shakes the vehicle and is dangerous for the poor asshole who is broken-down and trying to fix his or her vehicle… It’s amazing how many jerks just whipped right by me even when I was getting tools out of the side of #Millie… I flipped off these assholes hoping one of them would pull over to confront me! I dreamed of caving in one of their faces for being so completely ignorant and dangerously inconsiderate…
So, anyway folks, this was my result… I have to say Triple A came through and I was towed to a local farm/mechanics shop called #ChaseFarms… I convinced the guy to let me stay in The Millennium Falcon overnight… I let him take a picture of my I.D. so he wouldn’t get in trouble with the owner of this amazingly huge #farm and lot… The tow truck driver assured me I broke down in the right place because John, the owner, was a great guy who would get me back on the road… He is the owner of Chase Farms, #ChaseFarmsRepair and #ChaseFarmsTrucking… A full plate with three different companies…
I just hoped it wasn’t anything major that has gone wrong with Millie… I can’t take another week or weeks in limbo… I looked at the bright side as I went to bed… I still had a generator with a fully working house and trust me, without A.C. out here you are screwed! It was still around 85 degrees at 9pm… So, I thanked God I was on a farm, in the middle of nowhere with all these luxuries…
At least I could get up and explore the state of #Kansas tomorrow… I have never been to Kansas and was looking forward to what she has to show me as we once again tackle another problem with my true love, The Millennium Falcon… She is just like every girlfriend I loved in the past… A pain in the ass but I still adore her…
