Day Forty Four… A Day in the Life Without The Nugget Cafe… 09/17/15

Folks, I feel like my right arm has been cut off… There is a sense of relief considering we are all worn out from a hectic last five weeks filled with drama and pristine service for our customers… Yet I feel like I have lost a loved one or sent them off to #camp for two seasons… I have this sunken feeling which goes to show how much I enjoyed my stay here…

IMG 5653

I have learned so much up here and have had so many #Spiritual experiences that were unexplainable yet welcomed eagerly… Though I feel the #mountains and the location are the main sources of such #divinity, #TheNuggetCafe was the place that incorporated such experiences into a regular daily life of work and #survival…

IMG 5655

For without working at The Nugget Cafe, this would have seemed more like a #vacation and the experience would have suffered from such a frivolous, aimless direction… But with the objective to work and to pay off my newly acquired debt, The Nugget Cafe gave me purpose and a direction while experiencing the #SpiritualPhenomenons these mountains provided…

It was hard at times but it was a great job, with great people and I would not hesitate to spend a whole #season working here! The Nugget Cafe and #TaylorPark mean so much to me and represent an #epiphany in my life now knowing what my purpose truly is…

IMG 5657

I slept in today and took it really slow… I was kind of depressed and felt this pain whenever I reminisced about my experiences here… Everyone was leaving and a few were staying until the weekend… I now was reliant on the #TaylorParkTradingPost for any food or supplies…

IMG 5658

While I was shopping I couldn’t help but look at their wall with all the pictures of big catches over the years… All these folks were up here at some point celebrating their great catch of the day… Some pictures you could see were quite old and a few were current…

IMG 5659

Then I saw this maniac dead center of the wall full of catches… It was Chris and his little girls, who are much older now, in their teens… He had caught a big old #salmon it looks like… But I’m no expert on #fish, it may be a #trout… This man has so much history up here and I am so glad I got to be apart of his #paradise for a short while…

IMG 5661

The history up here is so comforting and so simple in a world that prides itself on convenience when the lack of convenience seems to be the easier life in an ever complicated world… For nothing compares to #FamilyHistory and the history of a #ranch that was built by a #family and their neighbors…

IMG 5668

I thought it was going to be a day of lounging and writing but Billy and Jason convinced me to go into #Gunnison and get a bite to eat…

IMG 5670

I was very hesitant about going, knowing I would drink too much and suffer from a hangover the next day… But staying here was too painful and I needed to distract myself from this horrible yet justified sunken feeling…

IMG 5671

So, we headed to #GarlicMikes and enjoyed a fantastic Italian meal… It was great hanging with Jason and Billy… It helped alleviate the sudden loss I was feeling, joking with them like we did in the kitchen… I have come to love these guys regardless of our differences and so-called set backs in life… The mountains up here are so mighty they make you forget your #political differences and different out looks of this world… We would probably be more of enemies in the regular way of life but up in these mountains you have no enemies… Somehow the mountains don’t allow that just by being present and providing for us up here…

IMG 5673

But lessons are to be learned and I have learned a ton up here… I realize it is possible to get along with most people if you take the time to see their life and how they perceive things… Regardless if we agree or not we have one thing in common… We are all children of this world and we all share a love for this great country… When you are all put in a simple situation in a simple lifestyle you begin to see how similar you really are… I think we should focus more on those simple similarities and forget about all of the mumbo jumbo and blatant distractions that separate us…

For when you are in this simple way of life one thing is completely apparent and can’t be ignored… You are away from the establishment that purposely separates us and wants us to disagree so they can achieve their greedy agenda… But when you come up to a small American town where these establishments have little to no power, you witness what being #American is really about and that’s helping each other, trying to make a good life with hard work with friends and family… Can’t get more simpler than that folks… Goodnight…
