Well, spirits were unusually high this morning, even though we didn’t get much sleep… But Tracey and I were just happy to have lights and electricity in our house… It’s funny how one tragedy diminishes all of the future setbacks… The setbacks are barely even noticed at this point… #TheTravelingMac is just happy to have his house back to normal…

The weather wasn’t helping our plans any… There were points last night when I felt #TheFalcon was going to topple over or be blown over the edge, that’s how windy it was… We were hoping for a nice day today so we could hike around #TheRedWoodStatePark a little…

I stopped at this little #MarijuanaShop in #Crescent,CA… I was very low on #weed but was also aggravated with myself for not waiting until we got into #Oregon… I wouldn’t mind trying what they have… It all probably comes from #NorthernCalifornia anyway… lol…
This little shack looks like a coffee shop and it probably once was because it looked converted from such, inside… The owner also went with a sandwich shop theme where you order your bud off of a menu that you would get in an actual restaurant… It was a very welcoming, friendly experience and their bud was delicious!

Driving through these roads, crunched between massive trees was entertaining and I like what the forest looks like when its wet…

It almost makes the world look like a cartoon, with the water giving the area a certain glow you never get when its dry out… The colors tend to jump out at you more and the lines between colors become more definitive…

So, we decided to head to #JedediahSmithRedwoodsStatePark… It was still raining out but we figured we could eat lunch and enjoy the sights from #TheFalcon… And if it happens to stop #raining then we will go for a short walk…

Well, this #StatePark was hooked up and the perfect place to camp… They had really well spaced out sites with all of the amenities…

Tracey and I were upset that we lost two days to the electrical problem because we would have definitely stayed a night here… The sites were in the middle of these gorgeous #MonstrousTrees along a pretty wide #river… What a place to bring your family… It’s fairly cheap and I bet you could spend months here #exploring…

Tracey toasted a cheese bagel and made me a tuna fish and spinach sandwich… along with some salt and vinegar kettle chips…

We sat and had a nice lunch while we discussed our trip… We had given ourselves 4 hours a day of driving… So basically if we wanted to disperse all of our driving hours over the month we gave ourselves to get here, we would have to drive about 4 hours a day… Of course we gave ourselves extra time for gas and detours…

So the plan was, if we drove 4 hours that day then we would have done our required driving… but if we didn’t then we would just carry over the extra hours to the next day… Well, with the 2 day detour, Tracey and I just decided to recalculate the trip and start from here… So, we now had to drive 6 hours a day to keep up with our schedule…
Now, we realize that there is going to be a lot of #driving through #Canada because that’s all you can really do there… I was told you drive huge stretches without even seeing another car sometimes… So, we decided we would try to stick to the 6 hour a day schedule but also kept note that we could make a lot of time up in Canada…

This is all improvisational folks… I’m just trying to get to #Alaska and see some pretty neat things on the way up… I basically have no idea what I am doing… lol…
The rain let up for a little while, so Tracey and I took a quick walk to see what all of the hoopla was about… Wow! If you ever want to feel tiny and diminished, just come visit #TheRedwoods… These are some of the tallest trees in the world… Up until the 1920’s logging companies were having a hay day out here… Luckily the Government stepped in and stopped the destruction of these massive giants… And of course there was a huge political fight where the loggers felt it was their right to make a profit and the Government shouldn’t step in… Just take the money out of the decision and you will make the right one, just like we did by saving these trees… Hopefully we follow up with some better decisions on our environment today…

I actually heard that the reason you can’t buy really good quality wooden furniture today is because all of these old, ancient trees are either protected or completely gone… So the wood you are getting now are from tree farms where they are only years old… So the wood isn’t as good because it hasn’t matured for 100’s of years… Makes sense…

This was only a 2 minute walk away from where we were parked… I really liked this #Camping area… Someone really put a lot of thought and energy to create this little haven…

It’s hard to believe it took us a 2 day detour to get to these #forests but I can say for sure, it was worth it… I just wish we had more time to spend here… Maybe we will visit them on the way back from Alaska…

#TheTravelingMac has never been to Oregon… I know Oregon to be a great state to #forage for mushrooms and all kinds of rare ingredients you can sell to a local chef for a good buck… Like saffron and Ginseng… Both worth a lot of money… I think saffron is almost as expensive as gold by the ounce, it’s so rare…

I am nervous about the border though… I planned to eradicate The Millennium Falcon of all #Cannabis before crossing… With #JeffSessions as our #AttorneyGeneral, I’m not taking any chances… I can not believe the party that screams constantly about State’s rights to choose their own laws without Federal Government interference, are now the same party who are trying to challenge Marijuana State laws completely ignoring the state’s right to their independence all together… When are the people of this country going to notice the hypocrisy of it all? It’s ridiculous! The GOP defends the fight in the Civil War, claiming it wasn’t over slavery but over the State’s right to choose while trying to take a whole races’ rights away yet doesn’t feel a State has the right to choose simple marijuana laws… Hello?

And that’s all that marijuana is going to bring is positive things… And if any bad things do arise, they will not be anything compared to the death and havoc #alcohol heaps onto this world daily… 2.5 million people die of alcohol related incidents a year… 2.5 million folks and it’s legal… Marijuana doesn’t even have the smallest fraction of these statistics yet it is treated like its heroine for some reason…

If we legalized marijuana on a federal level tomorrow, 1/3 of our imprisoned population would be set free because they are in jail for marijuana related incidents… Yet people who drink and drive are given at least 3 chances before they go to jail… Please explain this to me! Please explain what harm marijuana users are doing to this country? So, we basically lock up the responsible users and let the alcoholics have a free for all… Killing and destroying families and our society daily… Makes no sense…

We drove into the night and caught up on some traveling time… Driving up the coast was beautiful… We were constantly weaving in and out of gorgeous ocean shores, over manmade natural earth bridges and thick green forests… Oregon is everything it brags to be…

We had a little trouble finding a place to park for the night… We finally found a #BoatLaunch area at #RockyPointCountyPark in #Bandon,Oregon… We figured we would take our chances here even though most frown upon anyone parking over night in these areas.. But with the rain and the early time of year, I figured no one would even notice us here…
