Well this is what I woke up to folks… I could lie and say I woke up early eager to see my new surroundings but I was so exhausted, I didn’t get out until the afternoon… Absolutely breathtaking and look at those ##mountains behind me! They look small but are about 2 miles away.. It seems the #desert is very deceptive when it comes to size because it is so vast… So you don’t know how far you really are until you see cars kicking up dust retreating from the mountains…
I love my new home… Very basic but has all of the accommodations I need and yes… I even have cable!!! All for $50 a week… Not bad…
Craig the Bartender was telling me last night I had to prepare my #RV for the really hot weather in the summer… He said my one roof AC unit would not be enough to battle the 120 degree weather… I have a lot of work to do but considering #TheMillenniumFalcon is from the #ArizonaDesert, I’m sure she will do just fine…
So when you hook up to these sites you have a water hose, an electrical plugin and a cable plug in for your resources… Then you hook up your sewerage hose to the septic provided….
It’s natural to want to open your gray water tank (where all of the shower and washing water goes) and the black tank (Where all the poop goes… lol) but Mike told me last night you want to keep your poop tank closed because it needs water to keep from the bad stuff piling up… So I will keep my grey water open to flush out the hose and empty the bad stuff once a week… Wow this is exciting! I have never been at a permanent #RVSite before… What an adventure! I’m sure I will learn a boat load…
I immediately noticed all of the #Ravens around… They make noise but it’s not as invasive as the high pitched crow caw… They have a much lower tone, raspy caw which is kind of soothing…
No crows here!!!! I’m sold! Lol! As you can see there is a huge tower behind #TheFalcon… Just have to switch over to #Verizon… Oh how I dread that task because I know already it will be a complete shit show and precious time of mine wasted… I know I’m pessimistic but it’s only when I have to deal with these huge #Corporate assholes!
So the #RVPark is not that eye appealing but what surrounds it is…
We are surrounded by mountains all around! It’s so beautiful!
Here’s what the temperature looks like in March! Yup, already above 100 degrees but it really only feels like 80 because of the dry heat… You would be surprised how humidity really ramps up the uncomfortable factor when it comes to extreme heat… Debbie told me over the phone that dry heat feels 20 degrees cooler… I’m starting to believe her…
Ignore the date on my temperature gauge…The time and date are completely inaccurate and I really don’t care… I need it for temperature and that’s it…
I walked around a little, kind of procrastinating meeting anyone… I figure I will get all of my introductions when I work so alone time is good for right now as I get settled in…
I took a walk to the entrance to #StovepipeWellsVillage… The housing reminds me of the military… Very bland and made of concrete… Not very visually inspiring but I’m sure they serve their purpose well… I guess this is where the guests stay and staff stay…
I love this old fire truck they have planted at the entrance… #TaylorPark has their own truck at the entrance… A theme I really like… Makes you realize the history of these places and the painstaking adjustments they had to make to survive in their remote environments…
I figured I would eat in my RV tonight… A little exploring and a nice relaxing night in my new home was enough for me on my first day… These Ravens are amazing! They like to hang around the lodging probably because of the scraps the humans leave behind…
They are definitely the mascots of #DeathValley… They let their presence be known and give you this spiritual feeling when you observe them… They are fully aware of your presence and almost seem to pose for you before they fly off… Can’t wait to get to know them better… Any creature who can survive in these extreme conditions has all of my respect! Seems like the Ravens here have control of their environment and everything that lives in it…
Here’s a whole shot of my living situation… It looks like the employees have this strip of rooms and my RV is behind them… I know this because the guest housing is much nicer… LOL!
I’m curious about the mounds of sand in the distance… I know I’m in the #desert but these #SandDunes are huge… Can’t figure out how far away they are… It looks like you could walk there in a couple of minutes but again, the desert is so deceiving when it comes to distance… I can’t believe how different it looks in every direction… I thought it was just going to be flat, rocky and sandy! Wow was I wrong!
Here’s some horse shoe pits! Looks like a good way of killing time with a couple of beers…
I hung out and watched the sun set…
It was very beautiful as the sun creeped behind the mountains… My phone ran out of batteries so this was the only picture I took…
#TheMillenniumFalcon has once again taken me on a new adventure and has succeeded at getting me to another location where I hope to see new things and learn new valuable lessons about myself and the world around me… Wow, what a year it has been! How many lessons I have learned! I can convincingly say that I love my life folks… If you ever get a chance, get an RV and do what I am doing for a year…. It will be hard at first with a lot of mistakes made but now it’s almost like second nature to me…
I don’t even think when I am operating the Millennium Falcon… It’s like she is apart of me and I’m apart of her! She is definitely the most valuable possession I have ever owned! Love you #Millie and can’t wait to see what Death Valley has in store for us!
